Opening Ceremony for the 2025 - 2026 Academic Year
On the morning of September 5th, the Welcoming Ceremony for the new academic year at the University of Information Technology (UIT), VNU-HCM, officially took place, aligning with the atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of the Education sector's tradition and the opening of the 2025 – 2026 academic year nationwide. The ceremony was held in a joyful and solemn atmosphere with the participation of the Board of Rectors, esteemed faculty, distinguished guests, and all students.

The 2025-2026 academic year not only marks the beginning of a new year but also a special milestone as the University of Information Technology celebrates its 20th anniversary. After two decades of relentless effort by its staff, lecturers, and generations of students, UIT has achieved many proud accomplishments. From research projects published in prestigious international journals to startup projects turning ideas into reality, and notably, the graduation of thousands of high-quality technology engineers who contribute to building the nation's digital future.
In the upcoming academic year, the University of Information Technology will continue to strongly invest in facilities, enhance educational quality, and expand international cooperation, creating more opportunities for students to freely create and develop.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Tú Anh congratulated the new students on overcoming the challenging university entrance exam. Out of over 12,000 applicants to the university and thanks to their relentless efforts, more than 2,000 candidates have officially become part of the UIT family.
Furthermore, she advised the new students: To achieve success, we need to set goals and invest in them immediately, such as building personal plans and persevering in their execution; investing in a solid foundation of specialized knowledge, mastering technology, and honing soft skills; becoming proficient in one or more foreign languages to integrate and access the latest technologies and trends; building networks; and investing in health. "I believe that this beloved UIT will be the most beautiful and memorable years of your lives. Let us strive together in study and training, and not shy away from facing difficulties to affirm yourselves. Now is the time for you to become courageous, creative, and confident students integrating with the world."
Within the framework of the Welcoming Ceremony, the University of Information Technology awarded 70 "Comprehensive - Creative - Service" scholarships with a total value of 7 billion 280 million VND.
Specifically, 10 students who achieved Second Prize in the National Excellent Student Contest in Informatics received scholarships worth 200 million VND each. New students achieving Third Prize and Consolation Prize in Informatics received scholarships of 120 million VND and 80 million VND, respectively. For subjects Mathematics, Physics, and English, scholarships worth 60 million VND were awarded to those achieving Third Prize, and 40 million VND for Consolation Prize.
The "Comprehensive - Creative - Service" scholarship is an honorary scholarship founded and awarded by UIT to new students who achieved First, Second, Third, and Consolation prizes in the National Excellent Student Contest in Informatics; champions and gold, silver, bronze medalists of the ICPC Vietnam International Programming Contest; and students who won first, second, and third prizes in mathematics, physics, chemistry, literature, and English in the National Excellent Student Contest. Additionally, these students are granted priority admission to the talent program.
Also during the opening ceremony, the University of Information Technology honored two outstanding new students who achieved the title of Valedictorian in the 2025 University Entrance Exam. Student Hồ Tuấn Khôi - Valedictorian based on the 2025 Competency Assessment Exam results with a score of 1108 points, and student Trương Minh Quân - Valedictorian based on the 2025 High School Graduation Exam results for combination A00 with 29.25 points.
The 2025-2026 opening ceremony of the University of Information Technology concluded in a joyful and emotional atmosphere. With its achievements, new directions, and the determination of its faculty and students, UIT promises to continue being a place that nurtures talent, creativity, and passion, contributing to building the digital future of the country.
