FACULTY OF INFORMATION SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

 

1. Introduction

The Faculty of Information Science and Engineering was established on November 09, 2018 under the decision of the University of Information Technology. Its mission is to conduct scientific research and train bachelors, masters, and PhDs in Information Technology, one of the University’s key disciplines, to meet the demand for highly qualified personnel serving the industrialization of the Southern region and the country as a whole.

In January 2024, the Faculty of Information Science and Engineering held the 5th Anniversary Ceremony (2018–2023).

 

2. Functions – Duties
The Faculty of Information Science and Engineering is assigned by the University to:

• Organize undergraduate programs in Information Technology, Vietnam–Japan Information Technology, Data Science, and a postgraduate program in Information Technology.
• Conduct scientific research and implement IT applications in various fields, geography, environment, climate change, economics, society, healthcare, education, etc., to effectively support enterprise operations and leverage data to enhance informational value for organizations.

3. Research Directions

The Faculty pursues the following research directions:

• Spatial and temporal databases.
• Web and mobile application development.
• Information safety and security.
• Natural language processing.
