VNUHCM – University of Information Technology Strengthens Academic Quality through ASIIN International Accreditation

on .

On November 12–13, 2025, the University of Information Technology (UIT), a member of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM), will host an on-site external evaluation as part of the ASIIN international accreditation process. This marks the third time UIT has undergone accreditation by ASIIN – one of the world’s most respected organizations in quality assurance for higher education in science, engineering, and technology.

Previously, UIT successfully achieved ASIIN accreditation for seven degree programs, including:

  • Bachelor’s in Information Systems

  • Bachelor’s in E-Commerce

  • Master’s in Information Systems

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Networks and Data Communications

  • Master’s in Computer Science

  • Master’s in Information Security

ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics) is a globally recognized accreditation agency under the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). ASIIN’s mission is to ensure and enhance academic quality standards for higher education institutions and degree programs in fields such as engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, computing, information technology, and teacher education.

In Vietnam, ASIIN’s activities are officially recognized, providing external quality evaluations and accreditation for universities and programs that meet its international benchmarks. The accreditation process thoroughly evaluates aspects such as learning outcomes, curriculum design, teaching and research staff, facilities, internal quality assurance, and the relationship between universities, students, and enterprises.

For the 2025 accreditation cycle, UIT presents five academic programs for evaluation under ASIIN standards:

  • Bachelor of Science in Data Science

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology

  • Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering

  • Master of Science in Information Technology

This evaluation marks a crucial step in UIT’s continuous effort to uphold international standards in education, aligning its curriculum and academic environment with global quality assurance frameworks. By pursuing ASIIN accreditation, UIT demonstrates its dedication to educational excellence, innovation, and sustainable development in information technology and engineering education.

Through these efforts, UIT reaffirms its position as a leading institution in Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific region, committed to producing high-quality human resources capable of contributing to the nation’s digital transformation and global integration.
